The Levelland Lobos girls basketball team spoiled the Plainview Lady Bulldogs' perfect tournament record with a 50-45 win to end the Lobos' host tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs battled back from a 31-16 deficit with a 29-point second half, but fell short. Olivia Shannon drained six 3-pointers to end the contest with 20 points and a spot on the all-tournament team.
Lady Bulldogs Jesse Long and Taylor Stevenson also garnered all-tournament honors. Long had five points and five rebounds, while Stevenson totaled four points and four rebounds against the Lobos.
Emily Sigala provided the Lady Bulldogs with eight points and three rebounds and Osen Ellis chipped in three rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs closed out the Gene Messer Shootout with a 57-48 loss to Montwood. The Bulldogs kept things close in the first half, down by only one at 23-22. The team, however, got outscored, 19-12, in the third quarter.
Damarius White led the Bulldogs' scoring with 14 points with Kilo Arellano adding on eight points.
